L'Atelier, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas, operates as a tracking and analysis centre for disruptive innovations. It is linked to the Group’s Communications Department.

30 Years of Tracking Emerging Information and Communications Technology

Since its creation in 1978, L’Atelier’s purpose has been to bring innovative ideas to the various sectors of industry and to help them identify opportunities and possible directions for future growth and development.

L’Atelier has become a place for people to meet and exchange ideas; an innovation tracking centre open not only to customers and partners of the banking group but also to other businesses and individuals. L’Atelier provides insight into the implications of, and the opportunities associated with, information technology development, not only from a technical and a usage perspective, but also in terms of how these innovations can be applied in companies in a profitable manner.

L’Atelier is also an interface between fortune 1,000 companies and innovative communities (start-ups, innovation clusters, etc.).

Three Centres, Three Continents

L’Atelier is:

  • an educational medium aimed at businesses and the general public: daily publication of articles on its dedicated website, production of the radio talk show “L’Atelier Numérique” on BFM Business, chronicle on the Spanish program Intereconomia, and TV and magazine editorials
  • a meeting forum for digital strategist (Thema events) and a must be place for market players (more than 100 events organised per year)
  • a consulting activity for BNP Paribas and external clients for innovative project implementation: learning expedition, strategy advisory…

Since 2006, this tracking and research unit for emerging ICT innovations has focused on establishing itself in the major regional centres of innovation: Europe, the Middle East and Africa (headquarters in Paris), Silicon Valley (San Francisco) and Asia (offices in Shanghai).
