Description of the Operational Entities
At the heart of the company, the support functions of BNP Paribas act as partners to the activities of its business lines. They allow the entities to concentrate on their particular areas of expertise while guaranteeing a high degree of quality and effectiveness.
There are nine support functions and they are essential to the smooth operation of the Group:
GTD – Group Tax Department: GTD is a tax-advisory, decision-making body with a monitoring function.
GLD – Group Legal Department: responsible for ensuring the legal security of the group and its employees, specifically as regards its commercial or proprietary activities.
GC – Group Compliance: GC guarantees the coherence and effectiveness of actions taken with regard to the Code of Ethics and more generally with regard to the legislative and regulatory provisions specific to banking and financial activities.
GFD - Group Finance & Development: a global function bringing together all staff working in the bank's Finance and Development departments (Group, core businesses, business lines, subsidiaries and branches).
GRM - Group Risk Management: provides expertise in the various types of risk (credit risks, market and liquidity risks, operational risks and insurance risks).
GI - General Inspection: a key player in corporate governance, ensuring compliance with the Group's strategy.
ITP - Information Technology and Processes: ITP provides BNP Paribas’s business lines and functions with services in the areas of processes, IT, real estate, purchasing, security and user support, at lower cost and with the aim of improving the group's operational effectiveness.
BCQ - Brand Communications & Quality: responsible for promoting the brand, providing information about the Group, guarenteeing the quality and communicating its support for innovation to the company’s stakeholders: shareholders, prospects, customers, employees, journalists, etc.
GHR - Group Human Resources: GHR is a global function consisting of men and women working to serve employees and managers as well as the Group’s broader ambitions.
