In recent years, the performing arts have been enriched by the contributions of artists eager to reach out to new audiences, performing on major stages as well as in more remote and unusual venues, both in France and further afield.

BNP Paribas provides support for the creation, production, dissemination and promotion of these performances. It has committed to supporting artistic teams in these disciplines that have traditionally received little corporate sponsorship.

Chouf Ouchouf: An International Success, the Result of a Two-Fold Cooperation

Sponsored by BNP Paribas since 2008 and 2006, respectively, the Groupe Acrobatique de Tanger and the Zimmermann & de Perrot company have collaborated on a new production, Chouf Ouchouf since September 2009. The premier of the work took place at the Palais Moulay Hafiz in Tangier before moving off on a world tour. Chouf Ouchouf is the result of a two-fold cooperation.

Firstly, it represents an artistic encounter between a Moroccan company and the Swiss duo Zimmermann & de Perrot, who are best known for their show “Gaff Aff”.

Secondly, the BNP Paribas Foundation and the Fondation BMCI (the Moroccan subsidiary of BNP Paribas) have joined forces to support the Groupe Acrobatique de Tanger, providing the young company with the means to raise their profile and to gain increased recognition.

Numéridanse.tv: Contemporary Dance Has an On-line Portal

La Maison de la Danse of Lyon (France) is one of the best-known institutions in the field of dance in Europe. In 2010, in partnership with the Centre National de la Danse and the BNP Paribas Foundation (one of its most loyal patrons), the Maison de la Danse launched the Numéridanse project via the numeridanse.tv platform.

Drawing on the video archive of the Maison de la Danse de Lyon and the CND, Numéridanse’s aim is to build a digital database of audiovisual information about the world of dance and choreography. Its objective is to make this information available to the general public, professionals and the world of education.

This platform provides specific presentation and consultation tools that respect the artistic quality of the works, as well as distribution rights and access to content. The Numéridanse catalogue offers many complete works as well as video excerpts, and is being continuously expanded.
