In 2003, the BNP Paribas Foundation launched its Helping Hand for Employees' Projects programme as part of its plan to encourage the company's employees to be just as committed to civil society as they are to the company. The aim of this initiative is to encourage employees to become personally involved in benevolent actions outside working hours.

As part of that plan, in 2007, BNP Paribas in Luxembourg launched the Helping Hand for Employees' Projects programme. Since then, nine associations, represented by employees from all the group's business lines and functions, have received financial assistance for their projects, most of which were aimed at helping children.

This year, the Helping Hand for Employees' Projects programme in Luxembourg has given its support to seven new associations:

Ama.lu has received a donation to finance a series of activities designed to encourage self-sufficiency in people dependent on addictive substances.

Ensemble avec Madagascar will undertake the construction of a multi-purpose meeting and educational space for the people of Sambaïna.

Thanks to the donation it has received, Pour un Sourire d'Enfant will finish equipping a training centre for domestic workers designed to encourage the employment of young girls in Cambodia.

MJC Yutz will be able to acquire equipment specifically designed for children's entertainment.

Fifteen young people will be able to take a 10-day summer camping trip with the Patro Etoiles des Jeunes de Messancy association.

Lire pour Tous will purchase computers to enable young people from disadvantaged areas in Cameroon to learn computer skills.

APEDAF will produce a cartoon strip illustrating how a deaf child can be integrated into an ordinary school.
