Paris, 6th Nov. 2009

The 2009 BNP Paribas Masters tournament takes place the 7 to 15 November 2009 at the Palais Omnisports in Paris Bercy. BNP Paribas contributes each year, alongside the French Tennis Federation to make this tournament one of the premier indoor world events.

BNP Paribas Masters is the final major of the season. Again this year, it will be an important factor in deciding the remaining spots for the ATP World Tour Finals, in which the top 8 tour players compete from 22 to 28 November 2009 in London.

Taking the opportunity of this great gathering in Paris, the Group set up a special event. As a partner of “Sunday Start”, BNP Paribas invited about 11,000 young people aged 18 to 29 to watch two first round matches and attend a concert by French pop group Superbus.

For the 4th consecutive year, BNP Paribas will take part in the “Ace for UNICEF” operation, making a donation to UNICEF for every ace. Last year the Group handed over a check for 10,000 euros. BNP Paribas also provided tournament tickets to local associations: “Fête le mur” which aims to integrate young people into the sport of tennis, AFEV, a network of student volunteers, and ADIE, a microcredit organisation.
